Oh I can SO relate!!!

In October 2004, I flew down to Guatemala to see our new son. He was 11 months old and we had started the process for him in Sept. 2004. We were told it would be a fast case and he'd be home for Christmas. Well Christmas came and went and no Jonathan. Come February 2005, we're told they can't find his birthmom to do the DNA. So the adoption stops. Then in May, we get the referral for our angel, Faith Marie who was 2 days old, only to be called back the next day saying they found Jonathan's birthmom, did we still want him too? Dumb question, OF COURSE. So we were told we'd have both of them home by Christmas. Well, Jonathan gets his DNA done July 2005, but the Embassy doesn't release it until January 2006!!! Meanwhile, Faith Marie's case is delayed because her mama with a minor whoe turned 18 during the process so we had to start all over with her. Faith Maire came home in April 2006.

We are STILL waiting for Jonathan!!! Over 2 years. There is no explanation other than the courts are investigating his mother. We have not received photos since Jan. 2006 because the foster parents are mad at the attorney so they won't bring him for pictures. It is SO frustrating emotionally, let alone the $$ involved. So we're in PGN and whenever I call, I'm told oh, he'll be out soon.

I'm starting to wonder if God is telling us that He doesn't want us to have Jonathan. The funny thing is, if that is God's plan, I'm alright with that. I just need to know one way or the other. This waiting and not knowing is driving me crazy.

Sending prayers that your two angels come home soon. Anytime anyone tells me how "Lucky" I am to have adopted instead of being pregnant and giving birth, I want to punch them. Mamas who haven't gone through the waiting can never know the heartache.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Blessings,
Sandra
