As an adoption professional who conducts home studies in NJ, I can assure you that home srtudies are NEVER given to potential birth families, as they consist of all of your identifying and personal information. Many of my clients have suffered through depression and I commend those who address their issues with therapy or meds, if needed. You definitely need to be completely honest and up front though, because not doing so can result in an unfavorable home study. Good luck to you.
