“Oh! Oh! Oh!” shouted a woman from Kansas the other day as she scooped a little girl she hoped to adopt from the arms of her foster mother and held her up toward the chandelier. “You’re just the cutest little thing.”
The article lost me at this point- how very patronising of the journalist to intimate this woman was being, in her view, patronising. This is such a special moment, doesn't every mother just melt the moment they get to hold their child for the first time?
I agree no system is perfect but this article has a bias that is so disheartening. I try to think positively when I read these types of articles as it give us a chance to think about this whole process and educate others who read this type of thing and want to ask us questions.
