Slowing down the process
I’m probably going to get slammed for this one… but if you don’t know, you should ask, right??
I don’t post much but I read daily. I’ve noticed various posts in which people have talked about “entering PGN without PreApproval.” I have read the process numerous times from numerous website – both private and governmental. Every place I look says explicitly that you will receive a previo if you do not have PA when submitted to PGN. It’s not an if, it’s a when. If the reviewer sees no PA, the file gets ko’d.
So here’s my question: why on earth do the attorney’s submit cases without PA? I realize that parents aren’t in control of their attorney’s (OBVIOUSLY), so this isn’t a personal attack on anyone. It just seems to me that it just adds to the backlog and logjam that is PGN. For those who have all of their documentation ready, we sit waiting to get into PGN or sit languishing in PGN while reviewers are reviewing uncompleted cases. Guatemalan officials end up wasting time reminding attorneys and their staff what is needed and when. Memos have to be typed; forms have to be filled out. It’s this kind of bureaucratic crap that slows the process down more than it has to be.
As someone who works in state government, I understand this oh too well. I spend more time requesting additional information, missing signatures, proper forms, etc. than I do actually doing my job on a daily basis. People get so angry when the process slows….. but it’s the people slowing it down!!
Okay rant over – I just thought I’d mention this in case anyone reading actually has the ability to talk to their attorney or might shed some light on the subject.
Best wishes to all in the wait – where ever that may be
