Funny timing. . .

Funny that I should log on for the first time in a few weeks and find this here. I just got off the phone with our agency, telling them that we are 11 weeks pregnant. Adoption was our first choice for how to have our first child, and when the wait suddenly become so long and unpredictable, we decided to go ahead with a pregnancy and worry about timing later. For now, we are continuing with our adoption application, and our agency is very supportive of that. We have the option of post-poning our referral by 6 months (which we very well may do), and we of course have to meet with our social worker to discuss the implications of "artificial twinning", finances, family roles, stress, etc. If the pace of referrals doesn't change, and if we add a postponement, it could very well end up that our children are about the same age, coming into the family about a year apart. Now we are expecting x2!

Good luck with your decision-making-- If you haven't yet picked an agency, this may be a make-it-or-break-it issue. I remember asking about this when agency-shopping, and how glad I am now!
