on adopting from Tenn. from someone in Tenn.

We inquired about a sib group on the Tenn website over a year ago.....and the group is still on the website! We couldn't even get caseworkers to call each other, let alone get our homestudy to this other worker, and we even live in Tenn.! Committee? The caseworker for the sib group just had "no idea" when the committee was going to meet. Our caseworker quit because even he, a career bureacrat, was fed up with the system.

We have had our two from California for over two months now, and FINALLY, just the other day, someone from Tenn. called to follow up.

There is a $30 million action plan settlement to a lawsuit that had been filed on behalf on the children in the Tenn. foster systerm that is supposed to be put into place this year. The state has no money for schools, roads etc - they are spending their total allotment from Big Tobacco THIS YEAR(which is supposed to go to anti-tobacco education over a period of years) just to meet the basic needs of the state this year.

There are other states that will give you far better service and who are far more interested in truly completing adoptions for the children in their care.
