Wit our Biracial daughter, when she was born she had alittle soft hair with one curl at the top of her head. It all fell out at about 6 months or so. When it came back in it came in on top first. She had a Mohawk of soft loose curls! LOL By the time she was a year she had soft curls all over. By 18 months it started to get tighter. By 2 it was still soft but got tighter. Now at 6 her hair can't make up it's mind if it wants to be white or black! LOL It is very tight but soft AND coarse! LOL
With our AA daughter she was born with TONS of the softest silkiest straight hair I had ever seen! By the time she was a few months old it began getting coarser near the nap of her neck. By the time she was a year old her hair was coarse.
Same thing with our AA son.
Here are pictures of them as newborns & then now.
