It is a good idea for anyone pursuing foster parenting to review your company's policy manual and their FMLA policy with a fine tooth comb to see what is allowed or not allowed.

bp10035--Were you actually fired? Or did your boss just threaten you? Also, did the one who threatened you actually have the power to fire you, or would their be other steps that would need to be taken (such as a formal, written warning)?

I, too, have had to request FMLA status (and thus job protection) for time I've had to miss as a result of the placement of my foster son.
