As a b-mom, this is probably one of the hardest things to imagine. I am also an adoptee, and I can't imagine not growing up with the knowledge of my adoption. I don't understand why a-parents would hide this fact, but many of them do. If you find a child that may be yours, maybe you could contact the a-parents or another relative, or even a family friend or neighbor and ask if the child has been told? It's a sticky situation, I know. Sooner or later, though, it seems a "well-meaning" friend or relative usually lets it slip. Then, hopefully, that's when the search begins on the adoptee's end of it.
