I have a question for anyone who knows "for sure" the answer. We have been asked by a family friend to adopt their son's unborn baby. The baby's mother does not want anything to do with it. We would love to adopt their baby if it is allowed by the state of Illinios. Illinois does not allow "private adoptions". It must be handled by a licensed agency in the state of Illinios.
My question is this. Can the birth parents designate who they want the baby to go to in a state that requires the use of a state agency to perform the placement of the baby?
