Frank,

Does your agency have a Waiting Child program? Most larger agencies do and it might be a good fit for your family. Don't be afraid of a waiting child...many of the children have minor, treatable needs by US standards. One of hte families in my travel group adopted a little girl with a birth mark. It had already been treated in China and was barely visible. It is true there are children with more serious needs listed as well, but there might be a child that tugs at your heart that has a need that you feel you can handle. It can't hurt to look and if you do decide to go that route, you will know the age of the child (and a lot of other information) before you move forward. If you are hoping for a child closer in age to your 6-year old, this might be a great option for you.

Good luck!

Maureen
