What state are you in?

Ohio

How long after placement before you can finalize?

6 months, minimum. This can be adjusted as the situation warrents

What pre-adoption classes did you have to take? MAPP, PACE, PRIDE, CORE, or something else?

No 'official' name... just a required 36 hours of initial training then 10 hours additionally per year to keep your liscense active

Are you considered a foster parent until finalization?

Yes and no. It's called an adoptive placement, however, services still run through the county, there are monthly visits form the worker and you re required to seek the same approvals a straight foster placement is.

Anything else about state regulations that you think a new adoptive family would need to know.

Ohio's system is county run, but overseen by a state governing body. While teh state sets down mandates, it's up to the counties to enforce and interpret them. The way things are done in one county may vary in the next.
