My husband and I are "fostering" a 17-yr-old boy, who is the younger brother of our son's best friend (both are 19 and in college). We have our own 12-yr old daughter still at home. We happened to be foster parents because this child was in the process of being kicked out by his father in January 2002 and we offered to take him in so he could finish his last 2 years of high school. So now we have this strapping 6 footer, 200-lb, linebacker living with us! What a sweet adventure to watch him over the past 6 months shed his shell of suspicion, discontent, sadness, and rebellion, and slowly mesh into our family routines.
