That is so sweet of him to leave a note - bet that wasn't easy!
I would push for the $$, especially if he is considered "unadoptable" - I know money isn't everything, but for us we would never be able to have our kids here without the extra funding. We worry that some day our Fd's will be up for adoption - we just would not be able to afford two more kids in daycare that we would have to pay for.
