I can think of one generalization about adoption that is true for all member of the triad, for all type of adoption.

Loss. We all experience it in some way. The child's loss with their brithfamily. The aparents loss of a genetic connection. A birthfamiles loss of the child. I could go on and on. But loss is the one thing I can think of that does affect everyone in adoption.
