If you are wanting to adopt a newborn, your wait as a single parent could be a long one. If you are open to adopting older children or children from foster care, you will have a much shorter wait, particularly if you are willing to adopt a sibling group. I have heard that some countries do allow single men to adopt, but I am not sure which ones. If you are willing to adopt internationally, you might want to look into that.
Since you are so young, you have plenty of time to do your research and consider all of your options. There are plenty of good books on adoption that you could read which might give you some insight into what adoptees and birthmothers go through, as well as how to best respond to your adopted child's needs. Happy reading!
