Tough Call
I agree with your husband, it would be rude to not answer their emails and phone calls. I'm not for sure why your bfather ended the conversation the way he did, maybe he still has issues with the bmom, who knows. I think it rather rude of your bfamily to not respond to what you ask, but again who knows why people do the things they do.
