Foster Dad relocated having problems w/agency

Hi, my name is James T. I am 49 years old, single Christian male.

I was licensed in Yolo county CA and now live in Siskiyou county. I have had a few children in Yolo and am in the process of gettting my license transferred right now.

I have had 3 home visits thus far and was told I might have as many as 3 more yet before everything is completed.

Pretty much everything rolled over from the other county but yet the visits keep coming.

I am interested in foster/adopt and had called the adoption agency for N. CA and was basically told that "single men" do not get matches with kids to adopt and if they do it is rare.

I felt very discriminated against and hurt by this. I have so much love to give to some kids. I have so much to teach them, to share with them.

A friend told me I should investigate Lillyput for my next placement and just be done with this other agency I am dealing with.

Any men on here or do any of you women on here know of any men who were discriminated against due to the fact they are single?

I am beside myself. I never ran across anything like this before. I was told that the kids were 1st in the minds of this agency and what was best for them. I figured that isn't a "perminent home" in the childs best interest? I qualify, I already went through the foster process.

PS I am wanting to take in sibs, boys only, 7-18, I prefer teens.

Any thoughts, suggestions or comments on this. Thanks.
