Red face Possible adoption of heroine/methadone exposed baby

Hi- I'm looking for some guidance. here is what the adoption agency says about this little boy (born june 14)

His Birthmother, who suffers from panic attacks and depression, used cocaine twice in the first trimester of pregnancy. More significantly, she used heroin in the first trimester. During her third month of pregnancy, she went into rehab and has been treated with methadone throughout the pregnancy. Methadone is a prescription drug that is administered by medical personnel to assist with the withdrawal of heroin. Please contact www.otispregnancy.org for more information about heroin and methadone exposure.
Additional to the prenatal exposure Baby Jesse also has a kidney anomaly. His kidney is located near his pelvis instead of in the middle of his back. His blood tests have revealed that his kidney function is normal. As a precaution the pediatrician has scheduled an ultrasound on July 18.

Additionally, she started receiving prenatal care during this third month, which continued throughout the pregnancy. She was also treated for her depression and anxiety. His father, who has signed the consents for adoption, has also battle addiction problems and is still trying to get completely clean.

What do you think- especially those who have adopted heorine exposed babies? Any comment would be appreciated- we are searching our heads and our hearts for an answer.
