I am Christian and my husband is a Muslim. This has never been a problem for us because we decided early in our marriage that the label given to our religions was not important to us what was important is that we both believed in God. We have been truly bless and have been happily married for 19 years. We were very disappointed when we looked into adoption and found that most of the private adoption agencies required that we both be christians. I guess we could have lied to them and said that we both were christians. How would they have known the difference? Is there a christian test?
People tend to assume that because you say you are a christian that makes you a good person. Only God truly knows our hearts so in my opinion as far as adoption is concerned it should not matter what label you place on your religious beliefs you should be judged by the total content of you character. My husband and I decided to go through the state and do our homestudy instead of dealing with all of the religious hipocracy. We are now foster/adoptive parents.
