I am the daughter of a recently deceased adoptee (my father). I am interested in locating my paternal family (his birth family) and don't really know how to start.

My father was born in St. Vincents in Chicago and was (I guess the correct term is surrendered) to Catholic Home Bureau (a division of Catholic Charities) from where he was later adopted.

I guess I am just looking for a direction, some advice, ANY help, suggestions...just trying to get my "sea legs" under me as I start on this journey and when I saw the title of your post, I thought I would start here.

For anyone looking (I think I can post this based on the rules) I am the daughter of a deceased man born on 12/26/1949. I am very interested in finding ANY member of his birth family (brothers, sisters, cousins, etc.).
