The background - last night we met my FIL's girlfriend for the first time. She was talking about her grandsons. The oldest lives with his father and the mother (her daughter) has had her rights terminated. The other grandson is a 10 month old that has been in foster care. The dad (different from the oldest son's) was arrested yesterday and will be spending time in jail. The parents of the 10 month old are due in court on the 29th and are going to relinquish their rights and put the baby up for adoption. I asked the grandma if the family the baby was with was going to adopt him - she said no. That she didn't know what would happen to him but that the family thought it was best because the parents really would never be in any shape to parent. She also stated that the court was hoping to have a family member adopt - there is no one willing to do this. I don't have any details as far as health issues. I have not been able to stop thinking about this baby.

My question is what will happen with this baby? Will they change his placement to a family that is foster/adopt?
