On one post you stated you have the name "Bill" to work with. Is that your bfather's name or what you believe his name is? Do you know his apprx. age at your birth? I know this seems like a long shot, but on the NC birth index you can put only a first name, last name, year, whichever you want to search by. You may get 1 result and may get 100.
The search path that is overlooked b/c of no chance of it leading anywhere is usually the path that leads you straight to the answer.
Also, I don't remember from your past post, but do you know the man your mother was married to at the time of your birth? Possibility of contacting him? He may not know your bfather's name but possible friend's of your bmom.
