i have been raising my niece since she was 2 yrs old , she is now 11. we are finally looking into adopting her. even tho she is mine in my heart. there have been several times that it has caused family problems for us. her birthmother would come to visit and the grandmother couldnt handle the situation. even tho we were ok with it. however as long as the birthmother is agreeable to your terms. noone else should have a say in it.... i wish you the best of luck.
