Thanks for those who shared here- appreciate hearing about your groups! I want to emphasize how wonderful again our group has been for me personally- including all sides of adoption- adoptees, birth parents and adoptive parents. How much I have learned and grown from hearing adoption from the perspective of all touched by it- Many in my group comment on how they have loved this element of our group and we rejoice in the meetings when all parties in adoption are represented. We have grown to understand adoption in a bigger way and how we can be sensitive to each other and honor one another. If your group is not like this consider having some days where you invite other sides of the adoption triad or have a panel of persons one meeting sharing about their side of adoption. Adoptees from our group went to Willow Creek Community Church (the MEGA church with Bill Hybels in South Barrington IL) to speak with their Moms Through Adoption group- what a great time we adoptees had sharing with adoptive parents, answering their questions and sharing our thoughts and honesty growing up adopted.
Blessings, Jody Moreen
