Hi Marcy. The answer to your question is both yes and no.
Yes, if you find a potential birthmom who wants you to adopt her baby you can do that. You do not have to go on a waiting list.
No, the pbmom can not just hand the baby over to you and put you on the birth certificate.
You would have to either contact a lawyer so they could do the legal work. You also need to have a social worker do a homestudy.
