This is a very interesting thread. We had planned on having a bio kid after I got out of grad school but then that time came but the desire to be pregnant did not. Also, although opposed early in our marriage my DH was quite open to the idea of adoption when we started discussing it. So no, we never even tried or shall I say, we never stopped trying not to. Who knows, maybe someday we'll give it a shot but for now are more than happy with our little daughter.

I can say that I had already decided that we would never do more than a basic infertility work up if I wanted to conceive and couldn't. Besides the uncertainty of success, I see all too many of the high risk pregnancy outcomes from these attempts and while some are good I wasn't game for the risk of multiples, preterm delivery, etc, etc.
