Since DH had a vasectomy about 6 years before we met, we considered AI through a donor or having his vas reversed.

We decided against a donor because DH felt "weird" about it. He was afraid he'd always view the child as MY child, not HIS or OUR child. We researched the possibility of a vas reversal, but the odds of it working were sooooo slim. Too expensive and too invasive for such a small chance of success.

Also, we really, really wanted a girl -- obviously there's no guarantee of that if we went the pregnancy route.

Since I never had the burning desire to be pregnant, and since neither of us felt the need to be biologicially related to the child, adoption made the most sense to us. We checked out domestic and international, and came to the conclusion that a baby girl from Guatemala would be the very best thing in the world to complete our family!
