This past Monday in a court room full of loving and supportive friends and family, my wife and I finalised the adoption of our dear FD who is now our dear AD.
A is five and she looked so tiny in that big chair. The conversation between the magistrate and her went something like this. Miss A was speaking in the most tiny of voices.
M, "A, do you know why you're here?"
A, "Yes."
Pregnant silence
M, "Would you like to tell me why?"
A, "So they", pointing and mom and dad, "can be my mom and dad forever and so I can stay with them forever."
M, "Is that what you want?"
A, "Yes."
Not a dry eye in the house I tell you. Even the GAL was misty.
