Smile Need some help finding an appropriate book

Hi Everybody,

I'm looking for a book about adoption to give to our birthfather's 10 year old daughter. She is being raised by the birthfather's mother and just found out that her dad and his fiance are going to place the baby up for adoption with us and is having a hard time with it.

Any recommendations for a children's book that might help her to understand the concepts of adoption and maybe especially an open adoption?

The next time we go to the birthmom's doctor appointment we're going to try to see if we can all get together for ice cream or something later in the day so she can get to know us and so we can tell her about the open adoption plan. I'm hoping that will help but was just thinking maybe a book might be a good idea. I think after the birth I'm going to also get her a locket and put the baby's picture inside for her too. If I can manage a picture of the two of them together I'll do that.

Book ideas anyone?

Thanks,
Julia
