Emotional Rollercoaster
I have not posted for a long time but thought I would send an update of our last week. We had a failed placement last December, the father stepped in at the hospital and they basically sent us home. Bmom was in rehab and her grandma had custody. Over time Bmom has earned full custody of her son by doing what the courts ordered her to do. We got a telephone call last Tuesday that Bmom had been missing for a week (she did return home that night). She left baby with her Grandma and they hadn't heard from her. Bdad has been to all the court appeariences but not to visit his son. He schedules visits but doesn't show up. He is now under the impression that the courts will just hand his son over to him. He is not working and is looking for a free ride off the county in my opinion. They go to court Monday morning.
Also on the same Tuesday we went to pick up 1 1/2 year old twin boys from a mother who was "stuck with them until court next Tuesday". We had them for a night and the county made us return them to the mother who doesn't want them. There is another family also interested in adopting them and court for that is Tuesday. The mother of the twins is also 6 weeks pregnant with a baby she hasn't decided if she wants to parent yet.
So I know our luck and none of these children will probably come our way this week but it is a messed up system if any of them go back to their parents. How many chances should they get? I am all for biological ties but at some point we have to think about stability and the best interest of the child!
Good Luck to all of you! When we choose adoption we never dreamed it would be this hard. I put all these kids in Gods hands and pray he is able to do right by them.
