My 9-year-old son just expressed an interest in a 2-week sleep-away camp for this summer. I drank a lot of wine after that discussion.
Mary, this is a great topic to bring up. Diana, I like the compromise idea!
We will be taking our son, but since he is older (he'll be 10 1/2 by the time we travel), I don't have the same issues as those of you with little ones. There are certain things that I would rather he didn't see (he's a huge animal lover), but I've been told that if we steer clear of small markets, we'll be okay.
