Adoption Tax Credit and Social Security Numbers
Hi,
Im wondering what you all did regarding the adoption tax credit if you adopted in 2005 and can now claim this credit when filing for taxes?
Our problem is our kids dont have social security numbers yet, but we adopted them in 2005. I know we can go to the SS office and apply for their SS cards, but they surely wont get them in time for the April 17th filing deadline, but we sure NEED the tax credit this year!
Is it still possible to do when filing this year? Oh, we live in California if that makes a difference.
