Can a couples' adoption switch to a single-parent adoption?

Hello,
I'm afraid to ask this question of my adoption agency, and I hope to find an answer here. I haven't found one anywhere else.

I began my adoption process with my husband, planning for an infant from Russia. We completed our home study, signed an agency contract, and were in the middle of the dossier. My husband began to express misgivings and, long story short, he has decided to leave our marriage.

I am now hoping to continue with the adoption, as a single mother. I have a great deal of family support and am committed to giving a child a wonderful home.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know if i have to start all over with the home study, etc. (so far, I've spent several thousand dollars) or can it be adapted for a single mother?

Thank you very much for any feedback, or leads to sources of information.
Cyrille
