I would like to echo Brink's post. The problems you have experienced are, unfortunately, pretty common to Guatemalan adoptions, from what I understand.
In any event, I hope that you do talk to your agency and caseworker about all of this. One thing that I've heard is that the attorney can pull the file from Family Court #3 (the court that is particularly unfriendly to adoptions) and refile in another family court. Perhaps that is something that can happen in your case, should you choose to pursue it.
