Exclamation Adoption Announcement

Hoping someone can give a little advice. Here's the sitch-

We are in the process of adopting our friends 5 year old niece. Bmom and custodial grandfather have signed terminations and custody agreements (YEAH), still waiting on bdad. But we are getting custody of her on April 1 or 2 as grandpa is 85 and in poor health and returning to Florida. Homestudy is happening tomorrow, she has been here to visit and is coming again this weekend. She and our DD get along well. All is peachy. But as I am the planner, gotta look ahead, I am wondering about announcements letting our friends and families know that we have expanded our family through adoption. I sent out really great birth announcements when DD was born, and I want to do something equally as special for this little girl.

So my questions are, how do you word the announcement? Do you include her birthdate? I am not sending them because I am trolling for gifts, but rather to let people know that our family has grown. Should we go cutsey (Our family has grown by 2 feet) or formal-esque (we are pleased to announce the adoption of....) or what??? What have some of you done? It is just an announcement, not an invite to a party or anything. (If we do a party, it will be small, the "usual suspects").

I guess I am looking for help with the ettiquette of this. I don't want it to sound wrong or strange.

Thank you for any help you can offer.
