A year ago this week I almost gave up adoption. Our first referral had died and I was devistated. I almost felt we were ment to never have children and I hurt, a pain I still can remember. But, the people on this forum sent prayers my way, gave words of wisdom and listened. You listened as I shared that I had a new referral 2 weeks later and was afraid to look at her picture afraid I would get attached. YOu probably saw in my writing my fear, but eagerness to love. In July of last year we brought our little Abigail home. Oh, she had warmed my heart with pictures before pick up but I was always nervous til the attorney said she is yours and no one will ever take her away. I am glad many of you talked me into not giving up. Today I share my day laughing and chasing after Abigail. She taught me everything and made me a mother. I wanted to thank everyone. I always send those adopting here, I know they will find the understanding often missed. So from me and Abigail, THANK YOU, you helped me become a mom too.
