Allergies
Nasal problems and ear infections can be symptoms of a milk allergy (different from Lactose intolerance which causes gastro problems). Whether they do scratch tests or blood tests the results may not be conclusive (I react to every single thing they test me for), keeping a journal of how your child reacts after different foods is best - and a whole lot easier as a child than, as I have had to do, when one is older.
