An aquaintence of ours adopted two older children and they both wanted to change thier first names and get a "fresh start" They had a really rough past with their bfamily...lots of neglect and abuse, so there is no contact between the bfamily and afamily.
FYI it has been a couple years and the kids are both doing well.
