We connected with our son's bparents 4 months after we started networking. He was born 7 months later. We used a licensed agency. Facilitators are illegal in our state.
I'd suggest doing your own personal networking in addition to agency efforts - this is how we connected, as have many of our friends. It can be as simple as putting a flyer up in your car window, leaving business cards in public places, or as elaborate as placing newspaper ads and posting a web page in online directories.
