Just a thought: I have heard that electric space heaters are not a good way to replace heat. Your electric bill will go up and it is more cost effective to just turn up your furnace because your furnace is most likely a high efficiency furnance and space heaters are not.
Some money saving tips we have used: changing car insurance to liability only- changing deductible from 250 to $500.
We keep our furnance at 68 in the evenings. when we are home and 63 when we are gone or when we are sleeping.
We also insulated our side walls of our house. We are hoping this will help decrease our heating bill.
We are feeling the pangs as well. I am planning to stay home and I worry a lot about money.
Good luck-
hilery
