The process starts with a "P O A"
Power of attorney and you are on your way...
This gives attorneys permission to work on your behalf
To adopt your little one... now don't you laugh!

Next you wait for them to take D N A,
where baby and birth mom are a match, they say
Once DNA matches, results are sent in
To the US Embassy where visa preapproval begins

So waiting on preapproval, you're added to the PAW list
Where PreApproval Waiters cheer, pray and hiss!
While you're waiting, F C can begin,
What is this you ask? Family court you are in!

Family court is the interview with the birth mom,
Gathering Guatemala documents and then some!
A home study is written carefully over there
and recommendations are made for you and child to pair!

Once out of family court, you enter PGN,
this usually gathers a great big grin
You are in the running for that final review
when all agree, the baby should be with you.

Once out of PGN, you are waiting for PINK,
which means travel papers for baby and you to link,
You go get your child and forever they are home
You post pictures here and we all cheer you on!

During the process you may see other letters,
D H, D D, D S, and plenty others.
These stand for "dear" for husbands and sons,
Daughters and any other special loved ones!

If you get all of this, then you are ahead of the game,
And if you have more questions... ask the same.
If we do not know, someone else might
but at the of the tunnel, there IS light!
