Hi! I am new to this site and hope to learn alot. We adopted a child at age 5 and now she is 9. Crying spells and tantrums are a constant even though we all are working hard on curing the problem. We have counselor, etc... Our daughter has a strong need for control after all she has been through and while part of it might be her personality, I think the adoption was quite traumatic and she is fearful she will be given away again so she tries to stay in control. We talk alot about it. So hang in there with what you are experiencing. It may go with the territory of adopting.

That being said, she never needs to eat after dinner but our natural son has a high metabolism and has to eat often so it may take some careful analysis. Hang in there!
