You could say that infertility might play a roll, as for medical reasons, it was unlikely I could be a parent the "traditional way". (and did not with my previous spouse) That really became a moot point once I was in my 40s and remarried to someone of similar (although
slightly younger
) age. Adoption was the responsible way to build a family and that's what we chose to do once it became obvious that family building was in the cards. The same basic reason contributed to eschewing any thought of adopting an infant...
