We will be in the delivery room as well. My plan is to be there for birthmom as she has NEVER (4 other deliveries) had anyone with her. She is excited to "have a friend with her" and that delights me. I plan to be low key, make sure she has what she needs and then see the baby born. My DH has told "G" that he would love to be there (as she invited him), but he wants her to officially make that call once labor starts. He feels she may change her mind about having a guy in the room.
I plan to give G a silver necklace with a cross on it. I have a matching one for the baby. when our child is old enough to understand and take care of it, they will have their matching necklace. I wanted her to always feel connected to us and her baby. We are all strong Christians and she feels (as do we) it was God who brought us together. That seemed to be an appropriate tie to give both her and the baby a cross.
After the delivery and until she is discharged, I plan to be with her as much as she wants me so she doesn't feel abandoned once the baby is born. That's very important to me because we just love G dearly.
Anyway, hope that helps.
