Many of you remember my son, Jacob, who was pretty sick in the hospital with Hepatitis ( a little gift his baby brother brought him from Guatemala
) in June....He later got a bad concussion in a bike accident in late August, and then broke his arm in football practice two weeks later. It was a rough few months, but he went back and finished the football season and his team actually went to the National Championships... pretty exciting.. He is still dating his girlfriend, Grace, for over 17 months now and gave her a promise ring for Christmas! I'm not sure what I think about that, but they're pretty convinced that they're soul mates...
Well, yesterday, he turned 16 years old and we got up early to take his driving test and he PASSED! I can't believe I have a child old enough to drive. He got a car and a cell phone for his birthday, and we've barely seen him since. We've always lived out in the country and he's been driving trucks and tractors and farm equipment literally, since he was Luke's age, and is a very, very good and experienced driver, but I'm still nervous about him driving alone. He's been so excited and happy about getting his license, and once Grace is allowed to actually go 'out' with him, he'll be even happier. I'm just glad he's been healthy and in one piece for the last couple of months! I thought you might enjoy seeing a picture from his birthday yesterday...
