Hello. Thank you for taking the time to respond and your prayers and encouragement. My mom and step-dad came last Thursday and are still here. Before she came I prayed lots and asked God to help me have compassion for her and understand where she is coming from. So far things have gone beautifully. She has asked a few tentative questions about the process and my husband and I gave her and his mother a book called "Adoption is a family affair" for Christmas. The best part, though, is that she gave ME for Christmas a book called "Loved by Choice: True Stories that Celebrate Adoption." To me that is a peace offering. Before last week's blowout she had been very supportive of our decision to adopt, so I'm beginning to think it was all a moment she was having. It's easy to forget that just because my husband and I have dealt with our infertily and have lovingly embrace adoption, not everyone in our family is at the same place. This week, however, has shown me that she is getting there in her time.
Thank you again for your support. We should be getting our homestudy done in the next few weeks. I'll update you. It's great to have a community to pray with.
