Adoption requirements
It looks like some of the official sites do not show a limit on single dads adopting from Kaz. But many of the agency sites do limit adoption to single women. My advice would be to go to the single parent adoption message board and get some of the dads to PM you with agencies that are accepting of adoptive dads. Then contact those agencies to get the best intelligence.
If you decide to pursue Kaz, I would plan about a year. It could go faster but I would not count of it. I first started interviewing agencies in June. I am just trying to get the last of my paperwork finished - I was done about a month ago and then some new regulations came out. It seems that this happens regularly in international adoption. I probably could have shaved some time off if I lived in an area where I could have used my placement agency for my home study and if my job was less demanding. But I have been pretty diligent. By the time my dossier goes through translation and to the consulate, it sounds like 2 to 6 more months is about the norm. So I will probably be traveling 9 months to a year out from when I got really serious about an agency. I think it could be even worse if you submit your dossier and it is in Kaz when they change requirements - you may have to wait for it to come back and then resubmit.
The good news is that even though my patience runs thin on the paper chase, I am still sure this is the right path.
If Kaz doesn't work, the dads on the singles board can probably give you some great advice.
Good luck.
