Very Scary
We personally know 2 families that have gone through this and lost. My dh and I are fully aware of what can and does happen to foster parents. We refuse to let this stop us from helping children in need. We want to do God's will and will trust in Him to protect us. We know that God will be with us no matter what.
I am not sure why this is happening to foster families. It seems as if the state is biting the hand that feeds them. Our friends led a long hard fight and lost. spent over 10,000 dollars that they didn't have and are still paying off, while their accusers
were paid to be in court and had all their fees covered. I could not believe that such a good loving family that we have known for 18yrs could be accused of such things. It got very twisted. This is the reason I was not willing to jump to conclusions in the "In Cages" thread. I am not saying that there are not abusive foster families out there but I have seen first hand how the media can twist things.
The other family we know of were accused of abusing their own adopted kids. They spent 700,000 (they have alot of money) and ended up disrupting the whole adoption. One of their kids had severe RAD and he was way too smart and accused them.
I am so sorry that you are going through all this. Taking other children into our homes is a risk. This is one of the reasons we are taking younger children. Older children seem to know so much nowadays and they know how to work the system. So sad to live in these times but we must still try to make a difference.
