Adopting a child out of Virginia

Has anyone that lives in Virginia adopted a child from another state? If so, was it a very hard/lengthy process? Did you have any problems doing this?
I ask because I've seen kids in other states that I'm interested in, but the person I'm working with talks like it would be hard for me to do it.
